The center host and raise elephant calves orphaned by poaching brought here from all over the country. Most of these calves are victims of poaching and most of them are traumatized, they receive spe.cialized treatment and rehabilitated back to the wild after months of foster care a by their human surrogate mothers. You will experience the spectacular feeding of the baby elephants and get first-hand knowledge and the story of the David Sheldrick Elephant Trust.
The Giraffe Centre is the creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), a Kenyan non-profit organization. The main purpose is to educate Kenyan school children and youth on their country’s wildlife and environment, as well as give local and international visitors an opportunity to come into close contact with the world’s tallest species, the giraffe. In this tour, you will be able to feed the giraffes and take beautiful selfies.
Karen Blixen Museum, Built in 1912, was home to Danish Author, Poet, and Artist- Karen Blixen. Made famous by the Oscar Award-winning film ‘Out of Africa’, based on Karen’s autobiography by the same title, the then farmhouse was established as a museum in 1986 by the National Museums of Kenya. In this tour, you will learn the rich history of pre-colonial Kenya and the life of Karen, from whom the area gets its name.
Kazuri beads factory was started by two singlehood women and soon discovered that there were many others in the villages around Nairobi, most of who were disadvantaged and were in great need of regular employment. At Kazuri, you will be taken through a factory tour and experience first hand the crafting of ceramic beads, strung into beautifully and artistically jewelry by a team of over 340 skilled women. You may shop at their shop for gift items.
Mamba Village is a vast Crocodile Farm, home to an estimated 70 Nile crocodiles. Our tour starts with an exiting farm walk that ends with the spectacular scenery of crocodiles feeding, the Nairobi Mamba Village Restaurant provides you with a great indoor and outdoor experience that shows off unique touches of African inspired decor, scenic gardens with a breathtaking view of a man-made lake.
